Público:In the frame of the globalized world, English has become a medium for international communication, and considered the world‟s lingua franca. Consequently, English teachers have an important role and a challenge to develop learners‟ linguistic competence and focus on a more effective and successful method of teaching English. But to achieve this, teachers should be equipped with different kinds of teaching and learning strategies as well as to develop linguistic competences for a better performance in their teaching practice. However, based on the English teaching reality in El Salvador, it is known that there are many teachers who do not have a college degree in Eglish language and are actually teaching that subject in public schools. They obviously have difficulties when teaching this subject matter because of their lack of communication skills and instruction in the English language, particularly in pronunciation which is an essential component for accurate communication. As a result, imprecise pronunciation has become an obstacle for the development of effective EFL teaching in public schools.
