|a This investigation is about the development of the speaking skill in students of fifth yeat Roger Lopez Borge Institute located in Siuna city, RACCN, Nicaragua in whichreferred information about strategies a teacher can implement with the learners durithe learning process. Here are described the didactic tools the teacher uses with students in the classroom and also intended to suggest teaching methodologicalstrategies to foster the communication skill. The depth of this research was descriptive in an ethnomethodological approach abased in a qualitative study. The instruments applied were individual interviews to students, teacher and principal and a guide observation which allowed collectinprocessing, and analysing the data provided of the participants. During this procedure was found that the teacher uses different ways to encouragstudents to speak and interact among them. The conversations, dialogues scrirepetition and presentation were the strategies implemented by the teacher to enhantheir oral expression in the learners. Consequently, this study was made to propose teaching strategies that promote development of speaking skill in the students of fifth year. The strategies include wethe pictures describing, movie time and the tongue twister which were designedpromote the communication skill in the students in an entertaining way.
