| Sumario: | The purpose of this book is to introduce Apple computer users, who have a knowledge of Basic languaje, to machine languaje programing. The trastition from Basic is made in small, easy steps. Color, graphics, and sound are used early in the book to make the demostration programs interesting and action- packed. Each new instruction is explained, and the demostration programs are discussed step-by- step in functional sections. The reader first uses the BASIC statements POKE, PEEK, and Call to enter and excute machine languaje programs from within a Basic languaje programs. A Basic Operating Systems in then developed from which machine languaje programs can be entered and executed. The introduction from BASIC, a languaje the reader already knows, provides a natural approach that leads to the use of the Apple Systems Monitor. The System Monitor allows the reader to ender, examine, and execuse machine languaje programs directly. The time used by the computer to interpret BASIC statements is thus eliminated. The final step in the transition is to the Apple,s Mini-Assembler, which relieves the programmer of many of the tedious details involved with direct machine languaje programming. Approaching machine languaje through BASIC provides a means for the reader to use his or her previous knowledge as a stepping stone to explore a new area. You will proceed through this book in four definite stages. Machine languaje programs are entered and executed by four distinc methods.
