|a Mangrove ecosystems provide multiple benefits within the social and economic sector, including through the fixation of CO; due to the high figures of net primary production that they possess. Considering the significance of these ecosystems, the aim was to increase studies to help demonstrate their importance through the use of mathematical models that allow predicting energy flows considering the species Avicennia bicolor, using information available thanks to a flow measurement tower installed in the Bay of Panama. The treatment of the data that was used within the models was carried out, where one of them was based on the analogy of Ohm's law, and the other on prediction through the application of neural networks. A correlation was made between the available meteorological variables and the energy fluxes calculated using the Eddy Covariance method, where significant correlations were obtained between the sensible heat with the short waves of radiation (R= 0.90) and the heat flux in the ground (R= 0.80). The analogy of Ohm's law was used to estimate the water potential in the air for two days (R= 0.37 and R= 0.43), while the neural networks were able to predict the flow of LE (R² > 0.91), H (R² > 0.86), FC (R² > 0.88) and the potential of the air (R² > 0.88) in a satisfactory way. The previous treatment of the data in both models increased the prediction effectiveness, while reducing the computational capacity required during the execution of the iterations. Keywords: mangrove forest, eddy covariance, energy flow measurement, gray box model, black box model, artificial neural networks.
