|a El presente Trabajo Final de Investigación Aplicada, elaborado como requisito final para la obtención del grado académico de Maestría Profesional en Ciencias Políticas de la Universidad de Costa Rica, contiene un pormenorizado conjunto de elementos de estudia, fuentes de información y acápites investigativas, atinentes a la profusa relación político-histórica que se desarrolló entre las Repúblicas de Costa Rica y México durante las épocas del Porfiriato (1876-1911) y la Revolución Mexicana (1911-1940). Estudio que se justificó, por una parte, en el amplio espectro de acontecimientos, individuos, sitios, circunstancias, hechos y demás aspectos similares que ambos países desarrollaron de modo paralelo durante las dos etapas históricas citadas, presentándose en consecuencia un ostensible cúmulo de episodios de la más diversa naturaleza que marcaron sus derroteros bilaterales, siendo en concreto lo relacionado al ámbito político, la faceta más desarrollada en ese sentido. Mientras que, por otra parte, y propiamente en lo atinente al caso costarricense, la otra causa justificante del presente trabajo se asentó en la multitudinaria relación histórica establecida desde antaño con México -incluso desde le era precolombina- dando así origen a una especificidad casi única, pues no se encuentra parangón similar en las relaciones conjuntas de nuestro país con cualesquiera otras naciones del orbe. Finalmente, este Trabajo Final de Investigación Aplicada fue realizado también con el fin objetivo de insertarse en el reducido grupo de investigaciones de carácter histórico-político desarrolladas a lo interno de la Maestría Profesional en Ciencias Políticas. Esto por cuanto si bien es cierto, desde la apertura de dicho posgrado se han efectuado algunos trabajos bajo dicha modalidad, también resulta verdadero que la gran mayoría de dichas investigaciones no contemplan a dicha variable como objeto de estudio...

|a The present Final Applied Research Paper, developed as a final requirement for obtaining the Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Costa Rica, contains a detailed set of study elements, sources of information and research topics related to the profuse political-historical relationship that developed between the Republics of Costa Rica and Mexico during the times of the Porfiriato (1876-1911) and the Mexican Revolution (1911-1940). This study was justified, on the one hand, in the wide spectrum of events, individuals, places, circumstances, facts and other similar aspects that both countries developed in parallel during the two historical stages mentioned, presenting in consequence an ostensible accumulation of episodes of The most diverse nature that marked its bilateral routes, being in ·concrete the one related to the political field, the most developed facet in that sense. Whereas, on the other hand, and properly in relation to the Costa Rican case, the other justifying cause of the present work was based on the multitudinous historical relation established from before with Mexico - even since it was pre-Columbian - thus giving rise to an almost unique specificity, as no similar paragon is found in the joint relations of our country with any other nations of the world. Finally, this Final Work of Applied Research was also carried out with the objective of inserting itself in the small group of historical-political research developed within the Professional Master's in Political Science. This is because, although it is true, since the opening of this postgraduate course some work has been carried out under this modality, it is also true that the great majority of these researches do not contemplate this variable as an object of study, reason why it was tried the revaluation of this type of subjects for future projects of similar nature.
