| Summary: | La presente investigación científica cuantifica los niveles de arsénico en el agua potable del cantón de Grecia,de la provincia de Alajuela, utilizando la técnica analítica de absorci ón atómica acoplada a un generador de hidruros,debido a la reciente aparición de nacientes contaminadas con este cantón en el país y motivado por la ausencia deinformación actualizada en la zona de estudio. Se obtiene como principal resultado que ninguna de las 26 nacientes analizadas supera el límite máximo permitido por el decreto costarricense 32327-S, de 0.01 mg/L. Se ofrece además, información sobre las implicaciones para la salud que significa el consumo cotidiano de Arsénico y su relación con el desarrollo del arsenicismo crónico, donde se concluye, que aunque el cantón corresponde a unazona de riesgo por ubicarse en la faldas del volcán Poás, la ingesta de agua potable ofrecida por la Municipalidad y las ASADAS, no representan riesgo sobre ésta problemática de salud. This scientific research quantifies levels of arsenic in potable water in county Grecia, in the province of Alajuela, using analytical atomic absorption technique coupled with a hydride generator because recent emergence of springs contaminated with this cation in the country and motivated by the lack of updated information for the study area.Obtained as the main result that none of the 26 springs analyzed exceeds the maximum limit allowed by the CostaRican Decree 32327-S, 0.01 mg/L. Information about the health implications that means the daily consumption of arsenic and its relationship to thedevelopment of chronic arsenic poisoning, which concludes that although the county is an area of risk to be located inthe nearby of the Poas Volcano is offered, intake of potable water offered by the Municipality, there is no risk of thishealth problem. |
